Lines from
Sunday's Service
“If our Lord
and Master had died just a natural death in His own home, He would have left a fragrant
memory in many thankful hearts and minds, but that would not have melted men’s
hearts. It takes more than the Sermon on the Mount to make men realise their
sin and their need of a Saviour. It is when men see Him hanging on the tree of
shame, and know that the sin which put Him there was the sin found in their own
hearts, that they feel something of their responsibility and are drawn to Him.
When the vilest amongst us can say ‘He loved me and gave Himself for me,’ that
man’s redemption is possible.” – The Rev. FP Evans, Methodist Church, Sea
Point.
